I have had some success breeding my melanota this year.
The breeding was from a captive bred german male and a presumed LTC female.
First put in together in May 2010.
1st clutch of 6 - 17/07/10 all turned out to be infertile. 2nd clutch of 8 - 27/10/10: 4 infertile 2 hatched 10/02/11/-11/02/11 2 fully formed dead in egg.
Young are approximately 40cm long, weighing 21/22g. Have not sexed them yet.
Will post some pics when i get round to it. Just got to get them feeding next! Will let you know how i get on.
I am looking for another adult female (CB) to pair up with my other male, if anyone has one???

Sorry its taken me nearly 6 months to reply Angi! Have not logged in for a while. Assist feeding started with c 1 cm pieces of rat tail, which they took without too much effort, then on to assist fed pinks. Both were sold, but i know at least one of them is doing really well now taking fuzzies on their own. Just hatched another clutch from 6th Oct 2011. Got 7 out of 8 eggs, which i was pleased about. Some still not had their first slough yet, but four have, and fed, 3 on assist rat tails and two have taken pinks one on first feed the other on second. After last clutch and two fully formed deaths in egg i decided to cut a flap in all the eggs after 100 days incubation, seems to have paid off. These will be available for sale if anyones interested. Pics taken by my friend Jonathan Brickland who looked after them during hatching while i was away working. Attachments:
